I'm gettin' some beer!

I have snails attacking my Hostas and apparently they like a good kegger to their own demise. All you have to do is bury a container in the ground level with the earth and fill it with beer. They find it, fall in, and drown. Cheap and quick. I think you are supposed to change the beer every couple of days unless the container is full.

  1. Ugghhh!!! I had slug issues too. I actually blogged about it in case you want to read: http://mama-jenn.blogspot.com/2008/10/slug-slayer.html. I also tried using the beer tactic and it didn't go over so well for me. I eventually gave up and hardly ate anything from my little garden last fall. This spring/summer, however, I am hoping to have more success. I ended up giving Sluggo a try. We will see how it works. I really didn't want to have to use any pesticides, but I just can't handle those darn slugs and so far it is the best alternative that I can find...for me...for now! :-) Good luck with your slugs!!!
