We went to the International Festival at UNC Charlotte. It was WONDERFUL! I will be there every year from now on. There were many opportunies to talk to people about their cultures, to see native clothing and dances, purchase crafts etc from different countries, and of course TONS of foods from every where. Sunshine and Spike, both got henna tattoos for $30 and were so excited about it. My camera died hence the shortage of pictures. Some of the countries represented were Eritrea, Ethiopia, Egypt, Thailand, China, Bosnia, Haiti, Kenya, Tanzania, Japan, Korea, Italy, Pakistan, Palestine, Iran, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, Mali, South Africa, Native Americans (yes, I know that's not a country), Senegal, India, Tibet, Nepal...and some others. I know I'm forgetting somebody.
We wen to Festival in the Park at Freedom Park. It was really fun. Today was "Kids Day" and it was really good. It will probably be even better/busier once all the ps kids get out of school. Parking was already pretty tough so I can only imagine how bad it is right now. If you have 2 children take at least $30. It is free to get in, but there are rides, food, and as you can see face painting.
There were lots of WONDERFUL artists that made me wish I had more money, because their pieces were as beautiful as they were varied. I love the kidlets, but it will be nice to go back ALONE.
A friend of mine's husband has a love for animals, and he is very good with them. Anyhoo, she invited us over for Mr. Anthony to teach us about all of his animals. Here are a few pics.
I just received my $40 box of organic fruits and vegetables and I must say that I am quite pleased. Everything looks so delish, and I am ready to eat, eat, eat. I might have to order another box sooner than later.
